Lazy People

Many people believe that the reason that they are not successful is because of other things - other people, the economy. They know that lots of people struggle.

Others blame the government for their lack of success. They complain that taxes are too high. They say that there is not enough government help and subsidy. These people believe that if the government would just do things right, then they could be successful.

Others believe that the reason they cannot succeed is due to "evil practices" in the corporate world. They blame shady business policies. They have adapted the belief that they are simply working to make someone else wealthy.

A lot of unsuccessful people truly believe these things. They are convinced that situations and circumstances in life are certainly not their fault. But is that really true, or are some people just lazy?

It is very easy to blame rather than to take responsibility. It is the easy way out. It also contributes to people developing a false sense of reality.

Now, is the economy really the issue? Have you ever thought just how much money is available in the world today? There is not a lack of money. There is an abundance of money!

How about lack of opportunity? Many times, you hear people say things like, "Well there just aren't any opportunities for me." Honestly, in today's world, that sounds ridiculous. Is there a lack of opportunity? Not hardly. We live in the the Land of Opportunity!

What about someone who has a lack of education? You hear people say, "Well, I never went to college." "I'm not very smart." "I don't have the time or the money to go to college now."
Again, that's the easy way out. Statements like that indicate that the person takes no responsibility for their life! And it gives them a false sense of reality. I know plenty of people who never went to college and are highly successful.

Just how much information is sitting on the shelves at the local library? How many self help books, programs, seminars are available at the bookstore? How much information is on the Web?

This is the Information age. If a person chooses to, they can put forth an effort and gain knowledge in whatever field they choose. Everything a person needs to become successful and to reach their goals and dreams is really right within their grasp.

Now of course, to reach out for it takes effort. And, to make an effort requires a choice. The big problem and the real issue really is that for some people it is far easier to sit, complain and blame, than to get up, reach and acquire. People who sit around, complain, and blame are wasting their lives!

Your life can change, dramatically, once you decide that it is in your power to do so. The Creator gave all of us free will to make our own decisions. A person can pray all day long for things to improve, but if they don't take some action, they will probally not see any results.

God gave us all a brain so that we could think and learn and grow! Make no mistake. You can ask for His help. He will help you and guide you and bring you to your desired haven. Psalms 37:4, tells us, "Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart." But, He will not just take over your life while you sit on the couch waiting for it all to happen.

You can be successful. You can reach your goals and dreams. You can have the desires of your heart. Instead of complaining and blaming, turn your focus and energy to pursuing the Lord - what are His goals and desires for you? The Lord tells, Jeremiah, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future (29:11)." Focus on those goals and dreams and desires. Get up and take some action.

Keep focused on where you desire to go, not where you are today. Stay focused! Learn and grow! Don't be lazy!
