The end of season baseball awards happened in our small town today. All the families bring their kids to the fields and the players huddle up with their teams, wait for their names to be called, and get their trophies from the coaches. Parents hussle onto to the field to snap photos and then stand around catching up with their friends before everyone scatters for the summer.
It's a wonderful thing.
I really appreciate the way the community comes together for the good of the children...and not just when its time to play ball. I didn't grow up in a small town and didn't think I'd enjoy life in a small town, but I am not sure we'd trade ours.
